A bottle opened recently was magnificent and lived up to the reputation of this great vintage. Typical blend, Riesling. 70cl bottle. Abv 9% Bottle condition, new wax capsule, label excellent, wine level 3cm from base of cork.

Now the estate has 65 hecters of its own vines producing great wines

The next year it was awarded Cru Bourgeois Superieur

and it has taken longer to evolve than many of its peers

After the French Revolution it passed to the Our Saluces family

often described as classic claret

1977 was not a great vintage for the region

The 1981 vintage suffered with terrible growing conditions resulting in a tiny crop and as a result already quite rare

The 2013 vintage was another where the growing season suited late harvest wines such as this
