Chateau Peyros, Madiran Heritage 2020Madiran is a glorious hidden corner of south west France with lush, rolling hillsides and glimpses of the snow peaked high Pyrenees around every corner. Situated just over an hours drive from Bordeaux, it is pretty accessible and deserves greater recognition. It has long been a favourite personal playground with delicious regional cuisine to pair with the special local wines. On a recent buying adventure we visited seven different Madiran properties

This wine is intense and complex with dark

Aromas of bright bramble fruit leading to a palate with crunchy wild berries and appealing black pepper notes

The gems of the domaine are the 2-hectare plot of 1er Cru Vaulorent (50-year-old vines)

Castagni is a lovely forward style of Barolo and offers great value
