Distillerie Poli Sarpa Barrique Grappa 750mlIn Venetian dialect sarpa means pomace, or the grape solids that are used to make grappa. Sarpa di Poli is made by distilling the marcs of two grape, Cabernet (40%) and Merlot (60%). This grappa boasts an herbal bouquet with notes of mint, rose and geranium.

At around 6% alcohol

and minerals finish with fine

aged in French oak casks for roundness and subtlety

and mocha notes

This is further mingled with dried fruit to deliver a richly smooth flavor

A half bottle of DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon

with a medium to full-bodied taste

The Guyana 2005 from Diamond Distillery was distilled in the double wooden pot still from the original Port Mourant Estate which was founded in 1732 When the estate closed

but pungent and quite spirity

clean finish make it an excellent choice for warm-weather sipping
