SPECIAL EVENT • Alex Davis of Porter Creek VineyardsIn tandem with our recent Direct Press feature on California wine in the 2020s, we are excited to welcome winemaker Alex Davis of Porter Creek in the Russian River Valley. The Porter Creek wines both defy and surpass expectations of this famous California appellation. Alex's father George bought the vines in 1977 and, fortunately for us, was not a trend follower. Alex took over the winery in 1997 after working for Christophe Roumier and Marcel Guigal.

Their vines are part of a polycultural farm at about 2000 ft above sea level
