Farrside is characterised by its masculinity, structure and deep meaty, spicy and mineral flavours. "The structure of this wine is next level. It's a meaty, minerally, undergrowth driven pinot noir with cool cherry and herb flavours, rhubarb like bass notes, an emphatic firmness and excellent length. The dryness of the finish here is something in itself:

The vineyard produced its first vintage in 1973

There is very little tannic extraction

a mere 13 vintages saw the light of day in the 19th century

but the acidity is challenging solo and it really cries out for food
