畢業於國立中山大學海洋資源學系，民國90年任職於國立海洋生物博物館科學教育組，期間曾任科教組主任。民國96年起迄今協助教育部制定全國國中小學海洋教育推廣。長年從事海洋科普寫作，作品常見於國立海洋生物博物館訊「我們的館」專欄，並於國語日報科學版中之「魚類專欄」、「珊瑚花園」與「這一年很潮-夜探潮間帶」等專欄擔任主筆多年，著有《解一ˊ篇》一書等科普書籍與海洋推廣教材教具等作品。
