HavenWhilst out on the West coast of Vancouver Island in the winter there are not many spots to get out of the wind and swell which can wrap around corners. It was tricky to navigate in through the swell but once inside this place was felt like a Haven from the winter storms and swell. The killer whales’ exhales echoed off the nearby cliffs as they moved slowly in our direction

once in the water they can dive over 200 feet in search of fish

I don't like to anthropomorphise animals but this one can't help to think about romance and in fact King penguins do create very unique bonds and both parents help to care for the egg and chick

This beautiful boat was built in the 1930’s which interestingly was also when some of the older female killer whales who still swim these waters today were born
