Hallmarked Silver Card Case Hilliard And Thomason Birmingham 1895This is a lovely silver card case with an engraved pattern to both the front and the back. This card case is unusual in that it shows to very different designs on the same side. The pattern is split in half diagonally with one half having a heavy and intricate scroll design whilst the other half displays a simple and elegant single Rose design. The grille consists of a single small flower with an elaborate design of stems and leaves

There is not much resistance to the hinge on the lid but it closes well

Shaped as horseshoes these really look lovely used and would make a great present for anyone interested in equestrian or country pursuits
