Tairu Rug

Tairu RugOn the facades of buildings across Japan, from mid century apartment blocks to neighbourhood bathhouses, a particular kind of tile appears with regularity. Long, narrow, small in format and laid out in organised repetition, designer Gabriel Tan encountered such tiles on his frequent travels to Japan, giving him the inspiration for the Tairu Rug, with him translating the tile face and the grout line, into a woven grid in textile. and its subtlety ensures it never overreaches

while also suitable around a dining table for everyday use
