2021 Barossa Valley GrenacheVineyard Fruit for this wine was sourced from Aldos Vineyard, a single vineyard in Williamstown at the southern end of Barossa Valley near the boundary of the Adelaide Hills. At an altitude of 220m and planted on deep silty grey loam overlaying yellow clay, a large portion of this vineyard dates back to plantings in 1930. Winemaking Fruit was selected in the vineyard and hand harvested as two separate parcels. At the winery, the first parcel was 100%

savoury influence

this vineyard was planted in 1970 on a red clay loam overlaying limestone

After three weeks on skins the two parcels were pressed together before overnight settling and racking to seasoned French oak

Once complete

Palate – Soft even tannin

Planted in the mid 90’s on their own roots

with the balance machine harvested in the cool of the morning

Time on skins ranged from 7 – 15 days before the wines were basket pressed

Mouth coating texture

The wine spent a total of 6 weeks on skins before it was basket-pressed

A combination of light pump-overs and hand-plunging were used to achieve the desired tannin structure
