Bruce stumbled upon this severely neglected guitar at Guitars R Us on Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, CA. He recalls, The bridge was horrible, it was all beat up, and the pickup was barely hanging on. After chatting with the store owner about the guitar, he was encouraged to take the guitar home and give it a try. Bruce ended up installing a new bridge

This guitar is featured in the HITS tour book and appears in the 1991 music video for "God Gave Rock & Roll To You II"

He would heavily contribute to the album co-writing nine of its twelve songs

As Bruce once said

One of them was his trusted Cherry Sunburst Horizon

He offered it to a KISS road crew member who then sold the guitar

Bruce also requested that the black Explorer be more "KISS-like" with the addition of a mirror pickguard and chrome pickup rings
