Easter TreeMade as part of a commissioned project with Leicester Cathedral in 2021 The 'Tree of Loss, Tree of Hope' grew through Lent into Easter as we all came out of Covid (and the longest city 'lock down' which was experienced in Leicester) and into the hopeful world. It was founded as an Augustinian priory in 1119 and in 2019

when the officers of the Botanical Section of the Leicester Literary and Philosophical Society were invited to undertake the work of establishing such a garden… and as Leicester University celebrates its 100th birthday in 2022 I hope this linocut does it justice

The originals are tiny black and white engravings and this Series attempts some sort of homage to the picture I had built up of her in my head

and the event always has the feel of a summer garden party – with a host of specialist nurseries and plant experts
