國立中央大學中文系畢業，日本國立御茶之水女子大學兒童學碩士。1992年開始在國內推動「小大讀書會」，為《大手牽小手》系列繪本（遠流出版）之催生者。2000年與「小大讀書會」成員在台中創設「小大繪本館」。翻譯繪本無數，包含《好想好想吃起司棒！》、《蔬菜運動會》、《點心大集合》、《殼斗村的麵包店》、《在圓木橋上搖晃》、《好想好想見到你》等（以上為維京國際出版）。除翻譯繪本，亦偶爾從事兒童文學作品、繪本論述、散文、小說之翻譯，並曾在大學開設過相關課程。近年致力於「兒童權利」之推動。
