Forest Dolphins

Forest DolphinsA first glance it would appear the dolphins are swimming together peacefully through the forest. But on closer inspection you can see that the imagine is flipped 180 and its actually is a rare hunt! The large dolphin, a transient Killer Whale is attacking the smaller Pacific White Sided Dolphin. What I love about art and photography is that its very subjective and people appreciate different things, I prefer this image this way, especially as a print

maybe the lack of visual stimulation or the depth if field

illuminates their blows as it dips below the horizon

It took one photo every 10 seconds and is always hard to get the correct light setting as it changes over the 6 or 7 hour the battery may last

(it was very cute to watch) and I was unable to capture them all in the same frame

Each location around the world they have taken advantage of a different ecological niche

When I look at icebergs in all of their uniqueness and beauty

The iceberg could in fact be that old

Im glad I was able to capture this unique animal and share with you

I heard a distant sound echoing across the water

the sound of it exhale filled the inlet

relentlessly blasting everything in their path

Eventually my practical side reminded me that the brown skua has young to feed also but it was still a sad moment
