Phormictopus auratus 3/4”size 3 4 Described in 2006 by David Ortiz & Rogrio Bertani. This Cuban species is my favorite or the genus with its stunning gold color. Its surprising to me that this species isnt more popular. Fun to keep. Gets big with females reaching 7 inches. Big appetite, grows fast, and often stays out in the open.

so it was incorrectly assumed that this hobby spider was Grammostola pulchra

but don’t let the smaller size discourage you

They will ship in a 3 dram so there is no need to buy additional housing for this spider at the moment

Native to Thailand and Myanmar

This species was described in 2012 reach about 5 inches as adults

this member of the “Red rump group” was originally in the Brachypelma genus until Tliltocatl was established in 2020 by Jorge Mendoza & Oscar Francke
